Kate Cutler and Ethan Bauman of San Francisco have announced their engagement.

The bride-to-be is a lawyer at Hancock, Rothert and Bunshoft in San Francisco. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree and received her law degree from U.C. Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco.

She is the daughter of Corky and Dr. Richard Cutler of San Francisco and the sister of Molly Cutler and Jacob Cutler, both of San Francisco. Grandparents are Norma and the late William Dubin of Pittsburgh, Pa., Pauline Smith of Philadelphia, Pa. and the late David Cutler of Cherry Hill, N.J.

Her fiancé is an entrepreneur in the digital music field. He received his bachelor’s degree at Johns Hopkins University and his master’s degree in business at U.C. Berkeley.

He is the son of Ina and Steve Bauman of Los Altos Hills. He is the brother of Shari Grande of Sunnyvale. Grandparents are the late Ruth and Carl Bauman of Lake Worth, Fla. and Midge and Lou Urban of Delray Beach, Fla.

A November wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, is planned.
