Correspondent | September 30, 2005 High Holy Days food drive to begin Numerous East Bay synagogues and Jewish institutions are collecting donations of food for the Alameda County Community Food Bank during the High Holy Day period. The food drive runs from Tuesday, Oct. 4, through Thursday, Oct. 13. Donations can be brought to Temple Sinai, Temple Beth Abraham, Oakland Hebrew Day School and the Jewish Community Federation of the Greater East Bay, all in Oakland; Kehilla Community Synagogue in Piedmont; Congregation Beth El, Aquarian Minyan, Congregation Netivot Shalom, Congregation Beth Israel and the Hillel Foundation, all of Berkeley; the Berkeley Richmond Jewish Community Center in Richmond; Temple Israel in Alameda; Temple Beth Sholom of San Leandro; Temple Beth Torah in Fremont; and Congregation Beth Emek in Pleasanton. Tri-Valley Secular Humanists to meet The Secular Humanistic Jews of the Tri-Valley Area will hold its first event, a potluck dinner, 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 1893 N.
