Engagements

Alexandra Wall and Paul Bosky announced their engagement this summer.

Alix, of Oakland, is the daughter of Irwin Wall of New York, N.Y. and Riverside and the late Sarah Wall. Paulie, also of Oakland, is the son of Roger Bosky of Spokane, Wash., and Freya Bosky of Timonium, Md.

Alix graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a bachelor’s degree in modern society and social thought and obtained a master’s degree in journalism from New York University. Paulie graduated from The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio, with a bachelor’s degree in computer science.

Alix is a staff writer at j. weekly, the Jewish news weekly of Northern California, and Paulie is a technical information specialist at Certain Software.

Alix was at Chochmat HaLev — which she attends regularly — last Simchat Torah. While the Torah was unrolled and held around the room, everyone was asked to offer a blessing to the person next to them. One of Alix’s friends turned to her and said, “I bless you that you will meet your beshert (soulmate) in the coming year.” Her first date with Paulie was the very next night.

They met on Craigslist, and plan to invite its founder, Craig Newmark, to the wedding.

They will marry in Soquel, near Santa Cruz, on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006.

Jonathan is a geologist, photographer and is finishing his master’s in geoscience at SFSU.

He is the son of David and Yvonne Boxerman of Palo Alto and the brother of Aaron Boxerman and Miriam Boxerman of San Francisco. Grandparents are Sylvia and Bernie Morris of Toronto and the late William and Florence Boxerman of Seal Beach.

Jen is pursuing her master’s in nonprofit administration at USF and works for San Francisco Performances.

She is the daughter of Tom and Linda Hoenigsberg of Helena, Mont., and Bren and Bill Boose of Spring Lake and the sister of Alain Mazer of San Clemente. Grandparents are Arline and the late Joseph Hoenigsberg of Palm Springs and Doris and Paul Verano of Queens, N.Y.

The couple met at Camp Tawonga in 2001 and will be married on May 28 in Woodside.
