Lisa Weisz Gewing passed away in Oakland, September 30, 2005. Wife of Heinz Gewing. Mother of Jenny Andrus and Dina Gewing. Mother-in-law of Alex Andrus. Grandmother of Sasha and Nick Andrus. Sister-in-law of Walter and Ann Gewing and Ehud and Rachel Gewing. Born in Vienna, Austria in 1933. Lisa fled the Holocaust with her parents, Edmund Weisz and Else Konstandt Weisz, immigrating to San Francisco in 1940. She graduated from Washington High School and UC Berkeley. She raised her family in Oakland, California and worked in the health education library at Kaiser Permanente. Lisa loved the ocean, and when she and Heinz moved to Sea Ranch seven years ago it fulfilled a long-held dream. Lisa was a selfless and loving grandmother, mother, and wife, totally devoted to her family and friends. She and Heinz were inseparable, enjoying everything together, including many trips to far away places in the last few years. For service information, please contact the family.
