Free Jewish events At Cal State East Bay

Cal State East Bay in Hayward will hold three free Jewish historical and cultural events.

The kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, with performance artist Nina Wise’s one-woman show “For What Do We Give Thanks?”

Wise will hold a workshop on theater techniques following the show.

Other events are Robert Alter’s “The Challenge of Translating the Bible” at 4:30 p.m., Jan. 25, and an evening of contemporary Jewish dance and theater at 7:30 p.m., May 3.
