Morris H. Berger passed away in Walnut Creek on November 18 at 78 years of age. A native of Brooklyn, NY and living in Rossmoor since 1994. Retired sales manager of A. Goodman & Sons and a musician playing in all the Catskill Mountain hotels. During his service in WWII he led the Air Force Band in Keesler Field in Biloxi, MS. Loving husband of Marilyn for 57 years. Devoted father of Robert Berger and Nancy Berger-Granet, father-in-law of Scott Granet and dear grandfather of Allison, who was the joy of his life. He will also be missed by his sister, niece and nephews. Services were held in New York. Shiva will be held Sunday, Monday and Tuesday (November 27, 28 and 29) at the Berger residence, 2209 Ptarmigan Drive #1, Walnut Creek. Bernice Zalkind Berman, born Oct. 15, 1914, at peace Nov. 12, 2005 in her native San Francisco. Much-beloved wife of the late Carl Zalkind and the late George Berman. Cherished mother of Arlene (Gary) Verbin and Lynn (Kenneth) Baron. Adored Gram/Grandma of Cory Verbin, Lainee (Leonard) Engel, Whitney and Michael Baron. Dear “G.G.” of Jeremy and Nikolas Verbin and Benjamin and Noah Engel. Loving sister of the late Sadye Edelstein and Dr. Maurice Colman. Loving Aunt and friend. Bernice will truly be missed. A graveside service was held on Nov. 16 at Home of Peace Cemetery, 6200 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95824, (916) 804-0846.
