new york | Heritage Affinity Services, which is offering the first affinity rewards credit card in support of Israel, announced recently that the Jewish National Fund has joined the HAS network of charitable organizations.
HAS, together with U.S. Bank, will donate a percentage of each purchase made by Visa Platinum cardmembers to the Israel-related charitable organization of their choice, while earning one HAS rewards point for every dollar they spend.
The Jewish National Fund is a nonprofit organization that specializes in the development of Israeli land and infrastructure. Since its founding in 1901, JNF has planted more than 240 million trees, built over 180 reservoirs and dams, developed over 250,000 acres of land, created more than 1,000 parks and educated students around the world about Israel and the environment.
“As caretaker of the land of Israel on behalf of its owners — Jewish people everywhere — Jewish National Fund is a natural recipient charity for this initiative,” said Russell F. Robinson, CEO of JNF.
“JNF is the central address for connecting to the people of Israel. This program provides American Jewry with another way of making that connection.”
HAS Advantage cardmembers can select to support up to five Israel-related charitable organizations within the HAS network. These nonprofit organizations include hospitals, social service agencies, universities, humanitarian causes, emergency services and community development programs in Israel.
HAS is currently expanding the list of charities to offer cardmembers the opportunity to support a wide variety of causes, such as the One Family Fund, a nonprofit organization that provides short and long-term emotional, financial and legal support to victims of terrorism and their families in Israel, and Yad Sarah, the largest voluntary organization in Israel that provides a spectrum of services for sick, disabled and elderly people and their families.
“We are excited that the Jewish National Fund is officially on board with HAS, as they are an organization that exemplifies its commitment to Israel and the Jewish community,” said Zev Dobuler, co-founder and CEO of HAS.
HAS Advantage cardmembers also earn one HAS Advantage point per dollar spent. The company has partnered with El Al Israel Airlines, the Dan and Sheraton Hotels and Budget car rental company in Israel to encourage cardmembers to redeem points for Israeli travel.
HAS also offers a rewards program, allowing cardmembers to redeem points for domestic travel on any airline, as well as brand-name merchandise, electronics, Judaica, gift certificates and more.
Founded by Menachem Landau and Zev Dobuler, the HAS Advantage Card is the first affinity and rewards credit card of its kind that targets Israeli charities while promoting Israeli investment and tourism.
