Ruth Mines “The Total Person.” Risk taker, fighter, eternal optimist, unconditional lover of life and family, hardworking, socially conscious. A giver that endlessly gave to others and to the betterment of society and the human condition. Warm, inquisitive, very verbal, so loved and respected and busy fielding calls from friends seeking advice that I suggested a few years ago that she might be missing her late life opportunity by not having a 1-900 BUBBIE-RUTH #!!! She was full of smiles and light, big heart and soft blue eyes that unblinkingly knew sorrow and the fullest happiness. Her humble beginnings were in New Jersey, eldest of four. Parents Gussie and Nathan Langer who gave their family through tooth and nail deep Jewish faith and lots of love, the foundation from which all life comes from. Ruth Vivian Mines was tough as nails and soft as heaven. Her husband Eli and she moved to San Francisco in 1947, relocating to Millbrae in 1948 and carried on their family traditions of ethics, hard work, laughter and love. Mom was big on going out and getting what you want in life. She’s the total package, “The Total Person!!!” Services will be held on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2:30 p.m. at the Home of Peace Cemetery Chapel, 1299 El Camino Real in Colma with interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, Paul Mines and Barbara Parker request that donations be made to the Jewish Home, 302 Silver Ave., San Francisco, CA 94112 or to the charity of your choice with their thanks.
