3 local organizations get arts grants

Three Jewish groups in the South Bay were among 102 arts and cultural organizations that received grants totaling $362,000 from the Arts Council Silicon Valley.

The Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center in Los Gatos received $2,175 to retain the San Jose Chamber Players as artists-in-residence. The San Jose Jewish Film Festival received $2,344 to present its 2006 fest. And the J-Connect department of the Albert L. Schultz JCC in Palo Alto received $2,263 to support the To Life! Jewish Cultural Street Festival, a celebration of Jewish culture.

Actor Jeff Goldblum visits Yad Vashem

jerusalem (jta) | Actor Jeff Goldblum visited Israel’s Holocaust museum.

Goldblum’s visit on Sunday, July 9 to the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial in Jerusalem came as the actor is preparing for his role in the film “Adam Resurrected.”

The film is based on a novel about a circus clown who lives in an Israeli asylum after surviving the Holocaust.
