Hadassah holding fundraising supper Facebook Twitter Email SMS WhatsApp Share By J. Correspondent | September 15, 2006 Just as grassroots activists raise money for Israel, so too do larger mainstream Jewish organizations. One of them is Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America. Members of the San Francisco chapter have raised more than $12,000 so far, and they’re not done yet. Hadassah will hold a fundraiser supper for Israel at 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17. Guest speaker Ellyn Lyons, of Hadassah’s national headquarters, will describe the organization’s efforts in postwar Israel, and show a short film of a recent solidarity mission. “Part of the event is to raise awareness of what Hadassah has done,” said chapter president Deborah Lopez. “We will continue our efforts for Israel.” The event takes place at the home of Barbara and Robert Voss, 11 San Jacinto, S.F. Donation: $36. For more information, call (415) 771-5900. J. Correspondent Also On J.
