Melanie Sara Shifs and Frank Michael Sarubbi were married on September 17, 2006 in the Continental Ballroom of the San Francisco Hilton Hotel, the same room that the bride’s parents, Masha and Don Shifs of Novato, were married in 27 years ago. Rabbi Alan Levinson officiated the ceremony which was followed by dinner and dancing in the Imperial Ballroom. The groom is the son of Dana and Frank P. Sarubbi of Novato.

Sandy Shifs was maid of honor for her sister. Bridesmaids were, sister of the groom Jaimie Sarubbi, Jenny Chisholm, and Sara Heilbron. Jennifer Wilhelm was junior bridesmaid and Gabryella Bond-Rugani was flower girl.

Trevor Bogel and Sean Beering were best men with Walter Frohmader and Jason Wilkinson serving as groomsmen. Bradley Wilhelm was the junior groomsman and Spencer Shifs, brother of the bride was the ring bearer.

The bride is the granddaughter of Rita Shifs and the late Jerome Shifs and the late Judy and Sam Waserman. The groom is the grandson of Margaretha Lowrey, Jan Curry, and the late Charles Lowrey, Richard Powers, and Frank J. Sarubbi.

After a honeymoon in St. Lucia, the newlyweds are making their home in Novato.
