Correspondent | June 8, 2007 David Wohlmuth was born February 8, 1919 in Krynica, Poland and passed away the morning of May 31, 2007 of cancer. David was the son of the late Nathan and Leah Wohlmuth and husband for 44 years of the late Hilda Lavin-Wohlmuth. He was the father of Neal and Lewis Wohlmuth; grandfather of Libby, Toby, and Aaron Wohlmuth. David was a Holocaust survivor who spent many years in Auschwitz, and other concentration and work camps. David met his beautiful wife in New York in 1951, and then moved to San Francisco in 1955. He became a successful insurance broker in San Francisco. He was a member of Betar, co-founder and past president of Birkur Cholim, past Vice President of Congregation Adath Israel, and treasurer of Congregation Anshey Sfard. Funeral services were held at Sinai Memorial Chapel with internment at Eternal Home Cemetery.
