Holdstein, the daughter of Russell and Susan Holdstein of Kentfield, CA was married June 10 to Charles H. Kirschner, the son of Stuart Kirschner of Peoria, AZ and Jackie Kirschner of Alameda, CA. Rabbi Lavey Darby of Congregation Kol Shofar performed the ceremony at the Julia Morgan Ballroom in San Francisco. The bride, 29, is a pre-doctoral intern psychologist at the Community Institute for Psychotherapy in San Rafael. She graduated with honors from the University of Oregon, received a masters degree in Psychology and has completed course work for a doctorate degree from Argosy University in Point Richmond. Previously, she had lived and worked in New York City. The bridegroom, 25, works in San Francisco for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) as the Deputy Director of the Pacific Northwest Region. He was born in raised in Arleta, CA and graduated with high honors from Emory University. The bride and groom met at young adult Shabbat services at Temple Emanuel-El shortly after they each moved to San Francisco. They will be honeymooning in Costa Rica and will continue to reside in San Francisco after their return. Carrie Sugarman of Mill Valley, daughter of Sherri and Charles Sugarman, grandaughter of the late Corinne and Stanton Sobel and the late Jane and Irving Sugarman, sister of Inga and Stanton Sugarman was married on May 12, 2007 to Mr. John Carlos Haines of Squaw Valley, California. The groom is the son of Barbara and Gary Rafferty of Paducah, Kentucky. The bride attended Tamalpais High School and the University of Southern California. She currently works for Tahoe Forest Hospital and is the Fitness Manager of the Center for Health and Sports Performance in Truckee. The groom attended Drake High School and The University of Nevada, Reno. He is an event planner and announcer and works for Squaw Valley USA. The couple were married on May 12 at 6:00 p.m. at Esperanza Resort in Cabo San Lucas. Mr. Scott Rosenberg, a close family friend, performed the ceremony. Matron of Honor was Mrs. Paula Kaplan and the Best Man was Mr. Steven Flahive. The couple honeymooned in Cabo San Lucas and reside in Truckee, California. Ellen Woolf and Joel Jacobson were married on January 13, 2007 at Temple Beth El in San Mateo. Rabbi Peter Rubinstein of New York’s Central Synagogue officiated. Parents of the couple are Bob and Ruth Woolf of San Carlos and Jerry and Alice Jacobson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Karen Rau and Susan Woolf are sisters of the bride. Susan Golden and Debbie Broderick are sisters of the groom. Ellen received her B.A. from Univ. of California, Santa Cruz; she teaches high school. Joel received his B.S. from Univ. of Wisconsin, Madison. He is a computer engineer with a local company. They were introduced by a colleague of Ellen’s who is a friend of Joel’s.
