Correspondent | August 17, 2007 Jonathan Neril and Shana Steinman were recently married in Israel, where both bride and groom are studying. Jonathan, the son of Marilyn and Morton Neril of Moraga, is also the project manager of an initiative in Jewish environmental education. Shana, the daughter of Sue and Larry Steinman of New Jersey, also teaches yoga and meditation. The couple is making aliyah and will live near Jerusalem. Robyn Alana Engel, LCSW, and attorney Richard Anker Friedling were married at Alameda’s Temple Israel on July 1, Rabbi Allen Bennett and Cantor Pamela Sawyer officiating. Guests included father Gerald Engel, Dorcey Chernick, sister Dawn Engel, brother Jonathan Engel, sister-in-law Faydra Engel, three-month-old nephew Jeremy Nathan Engel, and “best person” Althea Kippes. Lovingly remembered were parents Claire and Murray Friedling, Edith Engel, and brother Glenn David Engel. The couple honeymooned in Victoria, B.C., and resides in Oakland. J. Correspondent Also On J.
