Marianne Henriette Hirschland Aufhauser, in Lafayette on September 16, 2007. Born in Essen, Germany on November 10, 1912. A resident of Lafayette, CA.

Wife of the late Walter Aufhauser; mother of Martin (Judy) and the late Mary Lou Kaye (the late Ken Kaye); grandmother of Eva and Aaron Kaye and David (Darci), Daniel and Joshua Aufhauser; loving great grandmother of Abigail Shayna Aufhauser. Aunt and friend to many.

Private services were held at Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette. Contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice of the East Bay or The American Jewish Committee- No. Calif. Chapter or charity of your choice.

Allan Lee Blumenfeld. Allan passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at his home in San Francisco. Allan was also born in San Francisco in June of 1936.

His enjoyment in life was time spent with his wife Barbara, his children and grandchildren. He was an honorable son and brother who had dedicated himself to carrying on the legacy of his family business that ensued over three generations. He is survived by his wife, five children and seven grandchildren, with one more grandchild on the way. His wisdom, humor, and ability to see truth will be missed.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, September 16th at Sinai Memorial Chapel in San Francisco. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent, in memory of Allan Blumenfeld to: The University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, P.O. Box 4486, Houston TX 77210-4486.

Alice Grossman passed away on Sunday, Sept. 9, at the age of 98 years old.

She moved to San Francisco from Massachusetts with her sisters Dora and Molly to be close to another sister, Anna.

Alice served in the U.S. Women’s Armed Forces during World War II. Upon her release from the Army, she worked for the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C. for 30 years. Alice was a secretary to many prominent Israelis, one being the then Ambassador Yitzhak Rabin.

Shortly after her move to San Francisco, Alice and her sisters joined the Balboa Group of the San Francisco Chapter of Hadassah and the Congregation Ner Tamid. She was an active member of both organizations.

Madeline Half, Age 94, of Pittsburgh, PA passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2007. She was the beloved wife of the late Irving Half; loving mother of Jan Half (Alan Hafter) of San Mateo, CA, Fred Half (Cherie) of Palo Alto, CA, Chuck Half (Marilyn) of Pittsburgh, PA, Bill Half (Ellen Gershun) of Walden, VT; cherished grandmother of Brian Hafter (Joanna) of San Bruno, CA and Sandie Weinzimmer (Mike) of Ventura, CA, Julie Sutcliffe (Josh) of Burlingame, CA, Jonah Half (Emily), Lauren Warren (the late Josh), Cameron Half, Emma, Isaac, and Maya Gershun-Half; great-grandmother of Talia and Joshua Hafter, Jake and Lexi Weinzimmer, Nathan Warren and Eli Half; also survived by loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services were held on September 9, 2007 at Rodef Shalom Temple in Pittsburgh, PA.
