Long time Alameda resident, George Alpert, died on October 9, 2007, at 11:32 p.m. at San Leandro Hospital, San Leandro, CA. He was 88 years old. He is survived by two sons; Paul and wife, Judith, of Alameda; Fred and wife, Kate, of Wellington, New Zealand; and two grandchildren, Richard and Samantha who are currently attending college in California. George’s wife, Sylvia, died in 1968. George served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. His accounting firm was established in the mid – 1950’s. He was a CPA for over 60 years.

The funeral and interment was held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 12, 2007 at the Home of Eternity, 5000 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, CA with Rabbi Allen Bennett, Temple Israel Congregation, Alameda officiating. In lieu of gifts and flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either Temple Israel Congregation of Alameda or Beth Israel Congregation of Berkeley, CA in his memory and honor.
