Dr. Harvey W. Clewans, 64, on March 3, 2008 in Phoenix, Ariz., after a long battle with prostate cancer. Survived by his wife Bonnie, sister Evelyn (Dr. David) Ferrera of Sacramento. Son of the late Bernice and Samuel Clewans of San Francisco. Graduate of Lowell H.S., University of California at Berkeley, University of Bologna (Italy) School of Medicine, Diplomate American Board of Radiology. Otto Hertz, 104, beloved husband of the late Ilse Edith Hertz; devoted father of Joan (David) Bories and the late Judy (Dan) Weltsch; loving grandfather of Raeann, Jolie, Tammi, Jerry and David; adoring great-grandfather of six; dear brother of the late Paul Hertz. Donald Garson Schine. Born October 24, 1923 in Gloversville, New York. Son of Louis W. and Martha (Rubin) Schine. B.A. Yale University in 1945 and L.L.D. LaSalle in 1967.

Happily married to Gilda Geltner Schine in a wonderful partnership for over 59 years. Beloved by his children Randolph (Ann-Charlotte, deceased), Eric (Mary), Bruce, Lauren (John) Bearden. Devoted to grandchildren Ian and Avery Bearden and Kim Jo Schine. Affectionate brother of Dorene Schine Higier (Ross).

President of Darnell Theaters and Executive Vice President of Schine Enterprise of Theaters, hotels and Radio Stations. Board member of Lion Square Condo. Assoc. (Vail CO), highlands Slopeside Assoc., (Beaver Creek CO) and past president as well as present board member of Bellaire Tower HOA in San Francisco, past president Gloversville’s J.C.C., board member Littauer Hospital, Century member YMCA, Concordia Argonaut Club and Beaver Creek Club, CO. Member Knesseth Israel Synagogue in Gloversville, NY and Congregation Emanu-El in San Francisco.

Served in the U.S. Army 1943-46 and awarded the Legion of Merit Medal in 1945. He enjoyed skiing, tennis, traveling, opera and bridge.

Donald resided in both San Francisco and Beaver Creek, CO and passed away on February 29, 2008 in San Francisco.
