Correspondent | August 1, 2008 Sandy Joy Shifs and Sean Francis O’Brien were married on July 13, 2008 in the Continental Ballroom of the San Francisco Hilton Hotel, the same room in which the bride’s parents, Masha and Don Shifs of Novato, were married 29 years ago. Rabbi Alan Levinson officiated the ceremony, which was followed by dinner and dancing in the Imperial Ballroom. The groom is the son of Jeannie O’Brien and John O’Brien. Melanie Sarubbi was matron of honor for her sister. Bridesmaids were Graciela Dias Lourenco and Allyson McAuley. Atira Cheney, niece of the groom was the flower girl. Craig O’Brien, brother of the groom, was the best man, with Frank Sarubbi, brother-in-law of the bride, and Rick Neptune, brother of the groom, serving as groomsmen. Spencer Shifs, brother of the bride, was the ring bearer. The bride is the granddaughter of Rita and the late Jerome Shifs and the late Judy and Sam Waserman. The groom is the grandson of the late Peggy and Will Henchey and the late Marion and John O’Brien Sr. After a honeymoon in Cancun, the newlyweds are making their home in Rohnert Park. J.
