Sabina Lambert on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, at age 99. A resident of San Francisco for 67 years; longtime proprietor of the Sabina Lambert Knitting Studio with her late husband, Fred Lambert. Mother of Bernd Lambert of Ithaca, N.Y., and Marion Lambert Brackett of Oakland. Loving grandmother and great-grandmother. We will miss her million-dollar smile. Larry Tannenbaum, 56, died unexpectedly Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008 at UCSF Medical Center, San Francisco, of complications following surgery.
Larry was a devoted husband, father, son and brother. He is survived by his loving wife, Cherie, daughters Sara Rose, Marissa, Katie and Alexa; his parents, Fred and Irene and his brother Martin and brother-in-law, Alex Ingersoll. It was beshert for Larry and Cherie when they met on the playground at Congregation Beth Am in Los Altos Hills, marrying there and becoming active members of their newly formed chavurah/extended family and congregational community.
He was born December 27, 1951 and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended Arizona State University, where he received a BA in political science, then returned to Salt Lake to earn his MBA from the University of Utah.
He was recruited by Intel as a financial analyst, and then rose through corporate ranks to become the chief financial officer of many medical device companies. He also served for many years on the finance committee of Congregation Beth Am.
Larry was as good with people as he was with numbers. All found him to be a loyal friend, always eager to please and put others’ needs above his own. His distinctive sense of humor was a source of constant amusement to himself and his many friends.
He was also an avid bicyclist. On many weekends, he could be found climbing through the hills of Portola Valley or biking through other climes such as his most recent excursion to Alaska.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008 at Congregation Beth Am, Los Altos Hills with a graveside interment following at Hills of Eternity cemetery in Colma.
