Dr. Jim Allison and Ms. Margaret Lindenstein announce the engagement of their daughter, Annika Allison, to Daniel Mandel, son of the late John and Sherry Mandel of Montclair (San Bernadino County), California.

Ms. Allison is a 1996 graduate of the Head Royce School, and received a dual degree (magna cum laude) from Syracuse University in 2000. Her degree from the Newhouse School of Public Communications was in television, radio and film and her degree from the College of Arts and Sciences was in Public Policy. After graduation, she worked as a page at NBC in New York City and as a writer-producer for the Yankee Entertainment and Sports Network. Three years ago, she returned to the Bay Area and worked in the same capacity for Al Gore’s Current TV. She is currently employed at Kaiser Permanente as Program Manager of Videoconferencing for Physician Education and Development in Northern California.

Mr. Mandel is a graduate of UC Berkeley, with a BA degree in English Literature and a minor in Classical Latin Literature. Since graduation, he has worked in the travel and dot-com industries, and was a video editor in Los Angeles. He has studied, lived and worked in the U.K. and Ireland, and has bicycled from San Francisco to Washington, D.C. for charity. He is presently employed as a writer-producer at Current TV in San Francisco. The couple’s wedding will take place in February in Piedmont.
