Wedding

Patricia and Gary Levin of San Francisco joyfully announce the marriage of their daughter, Dr. Diana Hilary Levin, to Evan Ben-Artzi. The couple were married on Nov. 1, 2008, in the Gold Room of the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco by Rabbi Micah Hyman of Congregation Beth Sholom. A reception and dinner and dancing followed the ceremony.

Diana received her bachelor of science degree summa cum laude from UCLA in 2004. She was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from U.C. Davis last June. She is a small-animal veterinarian. Diana is the sister of Jonathan Levin and Dr. Marc Levin of San Francisco and the granddaughter of Charles Pivnick of San Francisco and the late Janice Pivnick and of Sydney Levin of Los Gatos and the late Virginia Levin.

Evan received his bachelor of arts degree from UCLA in 2004. He is a systems administrator at AKQA in San Francisco. He is the son of Sandy and Gilad Ben-Artzi and the brother of Edon Ben-Artzi, all of Los Angeles. He is the grandson of Max Finkelstein of Los Angeles and the late Fanya Finkelstein and of Esther Ben-Artzi of Kibbutz Mizra, near Afula, Israel, and the late Zioma Ben-Artzi.

Maid of honor was Rebecca Schall. Bridesmaids were Joelle Berle, Caroline Luce, Erin Mills, Evie Rucker, Jaime Streem and Katie Swinerton. The flower girl was Hayley Lucero, cousin of the bride. Best man was Gabriel Kadosh. Groomsmen were Gilad Gelfond, Jonathan Levin, Dr. Marc Levin and Brian Lovi. Ushers were Edon Ben-Artzi, Jonah Garb and Dr. David Herman.

The bride and bridegroom met when they were students at UCLA. They were married under an Israeli flag, as were Evan’s parents, who were married in Afula 40 years ago. Evan and Diana are living in San Francisco.
