Helen Lazar, a woman of grace, charm, strength and determination died May 5. All who knew her loved her youthfulness of spirit and her joyous enthusiasm for life. Born in Czechoslovakia, she lost her parents, six siblings and her adored nephews to the horrors of World War II.
Helen did more than survive; she flourished, enjoying everything that life could offer — the company of good friends, travel, beautiful clothes and elegant surroundings. She drew people to her from all over the world and then kept them close. She is survived by her sister, Toby Greenblatt, her brother, Max Solomon, her two sons, Alan and Don Lazar, her daughter, Renee Rothmann, and her grandchildren, Dan, Sarah, Joe Lazar, Julie and Mark Lazar, and Annie and Michael Rothmann, great grandson, Zane Lazar and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
