Nehirim will hold its third annual West Coast spring retreat for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered Jews, partners and allies in April.

Nehirim (“lights” in Hebrew) is a national organization that runs retreats and other programs for LGBT Jews, their partners and allies. The California retreat, which runs from 2 p.m. April 16 to 2 p.m. April 18, will be held at Walker Creek Ranch, 1700 Marshall-Petaluma Road, near the Marin-Sonoma county border.

This year’s faculty includes rabbis, academics, nonprofit professionals — and a drag queen. Workshop topics range from queer midrash to community building to meditation. The weekend retreat also will include traditional and innovative Shabbat services, secular Shabbat programming, text study, movement, dance, spiritual direction, hiking, performance art, writing and ritual.

The retreat costs $200-$400. The deadline to register is April 13.
