The Jewish Home of San Francisco has been awarded the Seal of Excellence by Independent Charities of America.
The award is given to the members of Independent Charities of America that have, upon independent review, certified, documented and demonstrated that they annually meet high standards of program and cost effectiveness and public accountability.
“Of the 1 million charities operating in the U.S. today, it is estimated that fewer than 50,000 (or 5 percent) meet or exceed these standards, and of those fewer than 2,000 have been awarded this seal,” Daniel Ruth, president and CEO of the Jewish Home said in an e-mail.
The Jewish Home and Senior Living Foundation also got a seal from GuideStar, a national organization that offers information about nonprofits.
