Correspondent | March 25, 2011 The second annual Hazon California Bike Ride is coming up May 6 to 9, kicking off with a Shabbat retreat followed by one or two days of bicycling. The event on Mother’s Day weekend starts with the two-day retreat in Westminster Woods featuring workshops, community building, yoga, meditation and services. The weekend also will include a presentation by Mousa Diabat, a Palestinian citizen of Israel. Riders can choose from among five bike routes that travel through Marin and Sonoma counties; they vary in length from 30 to 80 miles and take place over one or two days. Last year’s inaugural event had 120 participants. Hazon is a nonprofit Jewish environmental organization that aims to create healthy and sustainable communities.
