News Hamas executes man for aiding Israel Facebook Twitter Email SMS WhatsApp Share By J. Correspondent | May 13, 2011 Gaza’s Hamas rulers have executed a man convicted of collaborating with Israel. Hamas’ Interior Ministry said May 5 that the man was put to death by a firing squad. His execution was the 11th in Gaza since Hamas violently wrested control of the territory in June 2007. It was carried out shortly before Hamas signed a reconciliation deal with the rival Fatah movement to form a unity government. In addition to the executions, human rights organizations have accused Hamas of killing suspected collaborators during Israel’s Gaza offensive in the winter of 2008-2009. — ap J.
