Correspondent | May 20, 2011 A short film written by and starring third- and fifth-grade students from Tehiyah Day School will be shown in the inaugural Albany Film Festival. Produced by Eric Silverberg, creative arts and digital media teacher at the El Cerrito Jewish day school, “The Worst Detective” will be shown during the “kids’ matinee” that kicks off the festival at noon Saturday, May 21. The festival will run until 9 p.m. It will be hosted by comedian, musician and actor Corbett Redford, and will include a discussion with Academy Award winner Les Blank, a screening of the Oscar-nominated animated short “Let’s Pollute” and a Q&A with editor and cinematographer Shane King. The festival will take place at the Albany Community Center Theatre, 1249 Marin Ave., Albany. Tickets are $5 for adults and $1 for children. For information, visit www.albanyca.org/albanyfilmfest. J.
