Israel in the Gardens set for Sunday, rain or shine Facebook Twitter Email SMS WhatsApp Share By J. Correspondent | June 3, 2011 Don’t listen to the weatherman. Despite rain in the forecast, Israel in the Gardens is a go for Sunday, June 5 at Yerba Buena Gardens in San Francisco. Organizers say the event, which in years past has drawn up to 20,000 revelers, will take place rain or shine. Sponsored by the S.F.-based Jewish Community Federation and the Israel Center, the annual celebration of all things Israel features community booths, Israeli foods, crafts, a film festival, a fashion show and nonstop live entertainment, with Israeli rockers Knessiyat HaSekhel (Church of Reason) taking the stage to headline at 3 p.m. Once the official festivities end at 5 p.m., the annual after-party for those 21 and older starts at Manor West, 750 Harrison St., and goes until 10 p.m. For more information, visit www.sfjcf.org/gardens/2011.
