URJ Camp Newman and the Bureau of Jewish Education are accepting applications for Camp Neshama, a weeklong summer camp program for youth with autism spectrum disorders and other special needs.

The camp is open to children ages 10 to 15. Campers play sports, do drama, go hiking, create art, swim in the pool and celebrate Shabbat together, among other activities. All campers live in cabins with kids their age and college-age counselors who are specially trained to support special-needs youth.

Camp Neshama takes place from Aug. 12 to 18 at URJ Camp Newman in Santa Rosa. For more information, contact David Neufeld, program director of the North Peninsula Special Needs Initiative at the BJE, at (415) 517-4433, or visit www.bjesf.org.
