Correspondent | August 19, 2011 The Raoul Wallenberg Jewish Democratic Club will host a debate featuring eight of San Francisco’s 16 mayoral candidates on Wednesday, Aug. 24 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the JCC of San Francisco. Former supervisors Bevan Dufty and Michela Alioto-Pier, state Sen. Leland Yee, interim Mayor Ed Lee, Supervisors John Avalos and David Chiu, City Attorney Dennis Herrera and Assessor-Recorder Phil Ting will participate. Melissa Griffin, political columnist for the San Francisco Examiner, will moderate. Israeli Consul General Akiva Tor and other prominent Jewish community members are expected to be present. Attendees are welcome to ask questions of the candidates, and are encouraged to address issues of concern to San Francisco’s Jewish community.
