Jewish Family and Children’s Services is seeking participants for two Holocaust-based programs for high school students, the Manovill Holocaust History Fellowship and Next Chapter community service.
Eight Manovill fellows will have the opportunity to connect with local Holocaust survivors, conduct in-depth research at a college level, learn community advocacy and develop educational programs about tolerance and genocide awareness.
The six-month program starts in December and includes twice-monthly seminars. Fellows will be credited with up to 60 hours of community service and receive a $500 stipend. Applications are due Nov. 1. For information, call (415) 449-1289 or email [email protected].
The Next Chapter program offers high school students a chance to research and interview Holocaust survivors and create a book based on their findings.
