Former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich will be the guest of honor at “The Art of Living,” the annual gala fundraiser for Jewish Family and Children’s Services of the East Bay. The event takes place at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 30 on the Mills College campus in Oakland. Reich is an outspoken liberal economist who served in the Clinton administration. He is currently a professor of public policy at U.C. Berkeley. For the JFCS event, he will be in conversation with KQED “Forum” host Michael Krasny. Kosher savories, sweets and wine will be served. There also will be a raffle with items such as a “year of fine dining” at top Bay Area restaurants, a private tour of the Bay Bridge, a vacation for 10 at Pinecrest Lake, and more (people need not be present to win).
