IsraAid will receive a humanitarian award for its efforts coordinating Israeli civilian aid following the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

The Luminary Award will be presented to IsraAid on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry New York’s annual dinner in Manhattan.

IsraAid provided food, water and educational materials in the wake of the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan in March, and it assisted with mental and emotional rehabilitation for those affected.

B’nai B’rith International, American Jewish Committee and the Jewish Federations of North America supported IsraAid in its efforts. — jta
