Correspondent | January 27, 2012 Haifa University is introducing a master’s degree program in Holocaust studies, the first of its kind in an Israeli academic institution. The program will be launched in October. It aims to deal with the drop in the number of young students specializing in the Holocaust in Israel and the fact that senior researchers are slowly retiring. Lectures will be delivered in English, and students will be required to study German and will be able to choose another relevant language, such as Polish. The program’s coordinator, Dr. Yael Granot-Bein, says several Israeli students, two students from Berlin and Boston and a young Chinese woman living in Israel have already enrolled. — ynetnews.com J.
