Temple Isaiah starting a prenatal class Facebook Twitter Email SMS WhatsApp Share By J. Correspondent | January 27, 2012 Expectant parents who want to learn about labor and delivery, self-care, choosing physicians and how to see the world of parenting through Jewish eyes are invited to attend a new course at Temple Isaiah in Lafayette. “L’Mazeltov: Childbirth with a Jewish Twist,” is based on a 2008 book and series of courses taught by Pamela Nadav, the author of “L’Mazeltov: Your Personal Guide to Jewish Childbirth Education.” These classes aim to complement traditional childbirth education classes by providing prenatal information within a Jewish family context. The classes at Temple Isaiah will be led by Jessica Weiss, a certified birth doula. Professionals in the field will join her to teach and to answer questions. Temple Isaiah clergy will participate, as well. The cost is $180 per couple, with a $50 discount for Temple Isaiah couples. The fee includes the book, course materials and snacks. The classes will run Sundays, Jan. 29 through April 1 from 4 to 6 p.m., but couples can join the class after the first meeting (for a pro-rated cost).
