Film, tv & radio

Out of this world

In its 17th year, the East Bay International Jewish Film Festival is all grown up. The decidedly worldly event kicks off Saturday, March 10 with its usual diverse array of offerings. The out-of-practice Bolshoi Orchestra of Moscow manages to land a concert in Paris (“Le Concert”). A South African who fled apartheid returns for a high school reunion (“Wrong Side of the Bus”). More films from England, Germany, the Czech Republic and, of course, Israel and the United States round things out. Don’t miss the love story and historical drama set in 19th-century Palestine that won top awards in China (“Gei Oni”), pictured above. Dates and showtimes are in the Film, TV & Radio listings.
