The Ross Valley Players are presenting “Harmony in Hiding,” a play based on the true story of a boy forced into hiding in Nazi-occupied Holland, from Friday, April 27 to May 6 at the Marin Art and Garden Center.

Based on the book “Hiding Horst: Memoirs of a Jewish Boy as told by Horst ‘Fred’ Ferber,” by Betty White, the two-act play was adapted by Michael-Paul Thomsett and directed by Robert Estes. It follows 12-year-old Ferber, who had taken a few piano lessons before the war and, while in hiding, taught himself to play the piano using only a tabletop. After the war he could play beautifully, proving to his father that he was destined for a career in music rather than medicine.

The Marin Art and Garden Center is located 30 Sir Francis Drake Blvd., Ross. For more information or for tickets, call (415) 456-9555 ext. 1, or visit www.rossvalleyplayers.com.
