Alexandra “Alix” Clifton Boyd Derby and Samuel J. “Sam” Salkin of El Cerrito announce their engagement. The couple was introduced by mutual friends at a Shabbat dinner in 2010.

Alix is the daughter of Margy Boyd and the late Nicholas G. K. Boyd Jr. of San Francisco. Sam is the son of the late Herman J. and Harriet Salkin of Greenville, Pennsylvania, and Sarasota, Florida.

A June wedding in Berkeley is planned.
