Farmers they’re not
The New York City–based jam band Soulfarm will perform its mix of Jewish and Middle Eastern, rock, bluegrass and Celtic music in a concert presented by the Masorti Center. Founded in Israel by Grammy Award–winning guitarist C Lanzbom and guitarist and lead singer Noah Solomon Chase, the band has recorded with Perry Farrell and Dispatch and opened for the Wailers and George Clinton. Event co-sponsors are Urban Adamah, Congregation Netivot Shalom, NCSY and the Contra Costa Jewish Day School.

The Qadim Ensemble, featuring Eliyahu Sills (second from right), can be better understood through its name: “Qadim” means “ancient” and “that which will come” in Hebrew and Arabic. The San Francisco–based musicians mix Arabic, Sufi, Hebrew, Yemini and Ladino influences in a sound that draws on the old and hints at the new.
