The fall season at the Magnes Collection of Jewish Art and Life in Berkeley begins Tuesday, Aug. 28, boasting several new exhibits.

The main gallery exhibition “Typo/graphics” will include prints and photography, with images by Marc Chagall, Hermann Struck and others, while the Inventory Project will highlight a collaboration between Magnes curator Francesco Spagnolo and Rutgers University Jewish Studies professor Jeffrey Shandler, and will feature an unusual collection of calendars, amulets, postcards and ritual objects. A new schedule of programs includes collaborations with the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival, starting with a screening of the “Best of the SFJFF Online Shorts”  at 7 p.m. Sept 6.

Fall hours for the Magnes galleries are Tuesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
