Boyd Jr., of San Francisco, was married Sunday, June 24, 2012 to Samuel J. Salkin, son of the late Herman J. and Harriet Salkin, of Greenville, PA and Sarasota, FL, surrounded by their four children, family and many friends. Rabbi Menachem Creditor of Congregation Netivot Shalom, Berkeley, and a friend of the couple, officiated at the ceremony, held on the lawn of the Faculty Club, University of California, Berkeley. An auf ruf was celebrated the day before at Congregation Kol Shofar in Tiburon. Mrs. Salkin, 56, known as Alix, is Vice President for Philanthropic Services at the Marin Community Foundation, Novato, CA. She is a graduate of the Katherine Delmar Burke School, University of California, Santa Cruz, and Fordham University. She made her debut at the San Francisco Cotillion in 1973. Mr. Salkin, 62, is Executive Director of Sinai Memorial Chapel Chevra Kadisha, San Francisco, the Jewish burial society of Northern California. He previously served as the chief executive of the Alaska Commercial Company, Anchorage, AK, and Peet’s Coffee & Tea, Berkeley, CA. He is a graduate of Cornell University. The couple was introduced by mutual friends over Shabbat dinner in 2009. A spring honeymoon to North Africa is planned. The couple resides in El Cerrito. J. Correspondent Also On J.
