If you are an older adult without children and have not yet planned for your estate, a free workshop on Nov. 13 might be of interest.

Berkeley attorney Sara Diamond will discuss estate planning, wills, advance healthcare directives, and care communities, with a focus on the unique needs of older adults without children.

Sponsored by Jewish Family and Children’s Services of the East Bay and Ashby Village, the 90-minute session will tackle questions such as: Who inherits assets if an older adult has no children and no plan? What is the role of a fiduciary for older adults without children? Who should older adults without children choose as their heath care agent?

The workshop starts at 5:30 p.m. and will be held at JFCS Berkeley office, 2484 Shattuck Ave., Suite 210. The office is accessible by BART and bus. Space is limited. RSVP by Nov. 8 by calling (510) 558-7800, ext. 352, or email [email protected].
