Berkeley professor of Hebrew Bible and Jewish Studies Ron Hendel’s forthcoming “The Book of Genesis: A Biography” traces how Genesis has shaped views of reality, and how changing views of reality have shaped interpretations of Genesis. Hendel will introduce his book in a conversation with Rabbi Stephen Pearce of S.F. Congregation Emanu-El and the Rev. Jane Shaw, dean of Grace Cathedral in San Francisco.
