Actor Liev Schreiber and singer-actress Vanessa Paradis play Hassidic Jews in the upcoming John Turturro film “Fading Gigolo.” On the set in Brooklyn, Schreiber (who is Jewish and grew up on the Lower East Side) wore the uniform of the Hassidic patrol squad known as shomrim, while Paradis wore a sheitel (wig) and dress.

“Fading Gigolo” tells the story of Fioravante (Turturro), who decides to get rid of his considerable money problems by becoming a gigolo with his best friend (Woody Allen) acting as his pimp. The film is due out in theaters next year. — jta
