JFCS migr gala set for Jan. 26

Jewish Family and Children’s Services will host the 12th annual Émigré Community Gala to raise funds for key agency programs. The event, which includes dinner, dancing, entertainment and a silent auction, takes place at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 26 at San Francisco’s Westin St. Francis.

The gala benefits children with special needs, frail elderly, children and families traumatized by attacks in Israel, as well as lone soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces and young people in need of college scholarships. This year’s entertainment includes Bremen’s Band and Latin ballroom champion Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

Raffle prizes include a day of sailing on the bay; meals at San Francisco restaurants; a Corum Swiss watch; a Lake Tahoe weekend getaway; and a home wine tasting with eight high-end wines. Tickets are $25 or $100 for five, and purchasers need not be present to win. Proceeds benefit JFCS.
