Correspondent | January 25, 2013 For those interested in brushing up on Judaism 101 — or people embarking on Jewish education for the first time — the Jewish Community Center of Sonoma County is presents “L’Chaim: An Introduction to Jewish Life, Belief and Practice.” The series of 13 weekly classes will cover the basics of Jewish thought, theory, text and celebration. Class meetings will take place Wednesday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Foxtail Golf Club in Rohnert Park. The series will begin Feb. 6 and continue through May 8. Instructors include Rabbi Ted Feldman of B’nai Israel Jewish Center (Petaluma), Rabbi Mendel Wolvovsky of Sonoma County Chabad, Rabbi Mordecai Miller of Congregation Beth Ami (Santa Rosa), Reb Irwin Keller of Congregation Ner Shalom (Cotati), and Rabbi George Gittleman and Rabbi Stephanie Kramer of Congregation Shomrei Torah (Santa Rosa).
