Comedian and actor Andy Dick has been cast for a role in the American remake of the Israeli sitcom “Life Isn’t Every-thing.”

The new series, called “Divorce: A Love Story,” follows a newly divorced couple who discover they cannot function together or apart. The series will be produced by ABC Studios, Sony Pictures Television, Israeli producer Noa Tishby and Reshet, the Israeli company behind the format.

The actor starred on his own program, “The Andy Dick Show,” on MTV for three seasons and is currently a contestant on “Dancing with the Stars.”

Dick, 47, will play the role portrayed by actor Motti Katz in the Israeli show. Fellow cast members include Jason Jones, Andrea Anders and Adam Goldberg.

The new series, based on the successful Israeli format that aired on Channel 2 for nine seasons, was initially sold to CBS about a year ago but was dropped. The show was then purchased by ABC. Daniel Lappin, who created the Israeli series, will write the U.S. version with “Friends” writer Mike Sikowitz. —
