Correspondent | August 9, 2013 A weekend event for bereaved individuals and families is scheduled from Aug. 16 to 18 at Camp Newman in Santa Rosa. Now in its 17th year, “Grief and Growing” includes specialized workshops and activities to help people identify tools to help them in their mourning. While Jewish programming is integrated in formal and informal ways, both Jews and non-Jews are welcome to participate. The weekend is co-sponsored by the Bay Area Jewish Healing Center, Jewish LearningWorks and Sinai Memorial Chapel. Other support comes from the S.F.-based Jewish Community Federation and the Jewish Community Federation of the East Bay. The $400 per person cost includes meals and accommodations in wooden cabins with bunk beds. There are discounts for young children.
