JFCS East Bay wins award

A program within U.C. Berkeley’s Haas School of Business has given its Dynamic Board Award to Jewish Family and Children’s Services of the East Bay. The honor includes a $10,000 award.

JFCS of the East Bay was selected after participating in the business school’s Berkeley Board Fellows program. Two MBA students at Cal, Jessica Felts and Aaron Perez, served as fellows on the JFCS board of directors in 2012-13.

Fellows attended board meetings and helped strategize while learning about governance and leadership. In all, 92 fellows served on 49 nonprofit boards during the 2012-13 school year.

Two other agencies were honored with awards and $10,000 gifts at the completion of the year: Lotus Bloom Child & Family Resource Center in Oakland and Clinic by the Bay in San Francisco.
