Urban Adamah offers Hebrew school on farm

Urban Adamah, the Berkeley-based farm and Jewish environmental education program, is enrolling students in grades 3 and 4 in “Hebrew School on the Farm,” an eight-week outdoor classroom running Sept. 25 through Nov. 13.

Classes will meet from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays at Urban Adamah’s farm campus, 1050 Parker St., Berkeley. Students will learn how to make pickles, butter and beeswax candles; build a sukkah with natural materials; bake challah from farm-harvested grain and more. The program will be headed by new senior farm educator Ariela Ronay-Jinich.
